Welcome Kelsey Tainsh!

Metropolis Management is proud to announce that motivational speaker Kelsey Tainsh has joined the Coleman Speaks roster! Kelsey is an extremely inspiring individual who does amazing work by sharing her story and motivating others to overcome obstacles. We are honored to have her as part of our team!Headshot (2)

Kelsey Tainsh has lived her life differently than she planned, hoped, or dreamed. Chances are we can all relate to life not going exactly as planned. Born on July 19, 1990 with her two triplet sisters she was the smallest of the 3 girls at 3 pounds 12 ounces. But it is said that Kelsey had the loudest scream in the hospital. Kelsey was always happy and full of energy but this started to change at the age of 5. She started to bump in to walls, always wanted to be held, and was always rubbing her eyes. Her mom put a cookie on the counter for her one day and she could not see the cookie.

Kelsey’s parents took her to several doctors who said she was fine but her parents finally demanded she get an MRI. There on the scan was a large tumor in Kelsey’s brain. After surgery and radiation Kelsey’s life started to get back to normal. By the age of 13 she was a world champion athlete and was featured on the TV news show Entertainment Tonight.  She spent time in Los Angeles acting in movies including “Rumor Has It” with Jennifer Aniston and Mark Ruffalo, and television shows such as “Gilmore Girls,”and “Desperate Housewives.”

Then at 15 Kelsey found out that her brain tumor had come back after ten years. Sometime during or after surgery Kelsey suffered from a complete right sided stroke, leaving her completely paralyzed on the right side of her body. Now, at 15 Kelsey had to learn to do everything over, from walking to tying her shoes and eating. Despite the many challenges she faced, Kelsey graduated from high school with honors alongside her two triplet sisters, graduated from the University of Florida, magna cum laude, worked for a Fortune 100 Company and now travels the country as a Professional Speaker. Her clients include The Coca-Cola Company, Harvard Medical School, High Point University, St. Louis University, the National Teen Leadership Program (NTLP),  Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY),  Arkansas FBLA, California Association of Student Leader’s, Junior Civitan International, and Florida Association of Student Councils (FASC) just to name a few.

She has also been featured in BYOU Magazine, Coca-Cola Journey, the Orlando Sentinel, Out Town Magazine and Home Magazine. This December she will also be featured in the National Speaker’s Association (NSA) Speaker Magazine. Having succeeded in spite of life changing, medical obstacles, she brings a unique perspective on life and the ability to succeed.

We welcome Kelsey to the Metropolis family and are excited to help you bring her to your campus to share her amazing message!!

Does booking events for your campus seems harder than it should be? Are you unsure about what you should be expecting from a booking agency or an artist performing on your campus?
Sailesh has over 20 years of experience within the college and university market, as a self-represented artist, an artist represented by a high-level college agency and the owner of his own agency. Along with performing, he now assists other artists and brokers deals with buyers.

In his Educational Session titled “Work it! Making the Most Out of Your Interactions With Artists & Agencies,” he will teach you how to work with agencies to guarantee a success event on your campus and a positive experience for yourself and your school!  Sailesh draws from his experience as a performer and agency owner, to provide insight and instruction for programming boards as they work with agencies and artists to plan events.  Sailesh will outline what buyers can expect when they work with an agency, what buyers can and should request from the agency to assist in their event planning and what pitfalls to avoid when working with an agency or artist.
Sailesh’s Ed Session is in Educational Block 6 on Tuesday, at 4:15pm, be there!
