Monica Moser is a New York native, spent her formative years in Texas, and now calls Nashville home. With a background in musical theatre and classical voice, she began playing the guitar at age 10 and writing songs at the age of 13. She moved to Nashville in 2012 to study songwriting at Belmont University. Inspired by the creative energy in Nashville she began writing more than she ever had and began performing at notable venues like Exit/In, The Basement East, and local festival Musicians Corner (2017), and gaining local buzz from NoiseTrade, Nashville’s Pop Ambassadors Ten out of Tenn, East of 8th, Now/It’s Nashville, Nashville’s PØPSQUAD, and local radio stations Lightning 100 and ACME Radio Live.
Her style ranges from folk & singer/songwriter to alternative & indie-pop. She strives to create music that is sonically dynamic & lyrically resonant and her voice & musicality have been compared to Sara Bareilles, Joni Mitchell, Florence + The Machine, and The Japanese House. After putting out a diverse catalogue of music over the years, she released her first album your absence, a closeness last fall which is available everywhere. Most recently she released an alt. pop single “Shortcut” which shows a new side to her artistry.
