[Official Wheelchair Basketball Team of The Golden State Warriors]
The
Golden State Road Warriors are the official wheelchair basketball
team of the NBA's Golden State Warriors. The Road Warriors are
one of the top wheelchair basketball teams in the country,
and play as members of the National wheelchair Basketball
Association (NWBA). The team has been ranked in the top 10
nationally for over 25 of the last 30 years. The team won
there first National Championship in 2001, and followed that
up with their second in 2004. The Road Warriors are lead by
Pete Sanchez, Trooper Johnson and Chuck Gill. The 3 have numerous
gold medals between them representing the United States in
world class international competitions, like the Paralypics
and World Championships. Head coach Paul Jackson has coached
the Road Warriors for 32 years, and was the assistant coach
for the 2008 Paralypic men’s wheelchair basketball team that
competed in Beijing China.
The Road Warriors
make numerous appearances around the country playing in
fundraising benefit games, exhibitions, at schools, companies,
colleges and organization, or just sharing there experiences. |
