Top 10 Tips To Surviving Your First College Semester 2021

  1. Believe in yourself.
  • We all know the difficulty of coming back to campus post-pandemic and the new arising challenges of getting back in the grove of things; so first and foremost the first step to success is to believe in yourself. This is your time to shine and you’ve already taken the necessary steps to start a great semester.
  1. Stay organized.
  • Keep track of your time and what you need to do to succeed. Take notes, use sticky notes, or even set reminders on your phone.
  1. Communicate.
  • You will meet many new faces and possibly recognize some familiar ones so go ahead and talk to people, they are in the same boat as you. Everything is better in a team.
  1. Assign yourself study hours.
  • After receiving your schedule and whether you are on campus or at home it will be very crucial to keep tabs on when you need to study.
  1. Assign yourself sleeping hours.
  • All-nighters can sometimes be necessary if you’re on a tight schedule, but a full night of rest is as important. Make sure to get enough sleep to feel refreshed and ready for your next school day.

  1. Get involved.
  • What better way to start the semester than joining a program, a club, or a team sport. You might just discover a new passion or get to meet new people with the same interests.
  1. Go to class.
  • We know that this is already a given, and something that is expected. Sometimes you might now feel like logging on or running late, but make sure this is a priority and remind yourself if you can make it, do.
  1. Relax.
  • Whenever you get the chance, take some time to unwind and communicate with friends.
  1. Create a workspace that isn’t on your bed.
  • As tempting as it is to just sit up and study for a few hours on your bed, it might not be the most efficient way to get adequate studying. Try to have a dedicated study area like a desk or take a trip to the library where it is not associated with unwinding.

      10. Have fun.

  • Simply put, college is the time where you will get the chance to explore yourself and your interests. Take up a new hobby and try to attend campus activities and events.
